a newbie from the dirty south

my name is alex. i am a long time member of MIAMI V-DUBS club down in miami. i own two vw's. both 1966's. a beetle with a crappy 1776cc and a westfalia SO42 which is in the works. i know a few of the guys on here from florida, all cool in my book. i will get some pics up of my bug soon.

Like those wheels. So tell us more about the 1776? Is there a stock or a built trans in there. I been trying to get my 1776 into the 15's for a while.

Tell us.....all we see on TV(and TV never lies) are the shows based in Miami all have massive explosions, cars flipping in the air & going up in flames, people getting shot, etc. Is there anything left????

here is the dirt on my crappy 1776
69mm c/w crank, lightened flywheel,9.5:1CR,engle125 w/1.1:1 rockers,dual weber 44's w/match ported manifolds,heads are 40x35.5 that i ported & polished with 1 5/8 exhaust ports, 1 5/8 merged header w/phatboy muffler,009 dist,blue coil,full-flow w/oil filter and 92plate oil cooler,1.5qt sump,1700lbs old school kennedy pp with stock rigid disc. tranny is stock 1966 that pops out of 2nd rolling on fake-ass 15x7 alloys with 215-60-15 rubber out back. oh yea, traction bar+ mid-mount+ bugpack truss bar= zero wheelhop.

So at 9.5 can you drive it or does it run hot? Mine is very close but only 8.5 with a 110 cam and 1.25 rockers and a 67 trans. Thanks for the info.

i run premium 93 always. was running a little warm so i added the oil cooler and took off the decklid. i will be putting back the decklid soon wth offset brackets. btw i drove it up to bugjam weekend which was about 800miles for the weekend and had zero issues.

come on man! build a big engine then ask questions, you still wont beat the 1776 i built! lol! im just messing with you dont get mad, get even! just figured i would shoot something since i never post, you were my first target!,also thanks go to overspray for the awesome repair om my car!
