Link Pin Beam
SO how far can a link pin beam be narrowed without modifing the shock towers? I got to get a pair of them done. One for each car.

Wrong answer!!!! Depends on the car and its shape. Hit or not. Measure between the inner tower and the inner fender well now. Add that together and you get the rub fit. Now you can trim the tower down and gain 1 inch more. I say cut off the towers and don't worry. Rides better IMO.

Or from what I have heard 175, 55s . cant wait to drive the vert with the new size tires on it. Go at least 5 inches narrow and ditch the shocks. 6 inches with 5.5wheels

I'm running 175/55 on 5.5 rims the front. They are the back tires for a smart car. I ended up getting mine from the local smart dealer for about 90 bucks each. None of the tire shops around here had them or tried to tell me that size isn't made.

6" b/j, no towers, cut & turned, no adjusters, 165/45/15s on 5.5" wheels, rode as good as it could with rubber bands for tires. It would shatter reflectors off the road
4" b/j, adjusters, no towers, 2.5" drop spindles, 155/65/15s on 5.5" wheels, rides good
4" l/p, adjusters welded so this was all the way up, no towers, 165s on 4.5" wheels, rode great!
4" l/p, adjusters, WITH shock towers (modified inner fenderwells), 165/45/15s on 5.5" wheels, never drove it so?
