5 INCH NARROWED BEAM ON 1959 BEETLE

Hi, I have narrowed the front beam on my 1959 beetle by 5 inches. I have no shock towers standard king and link pin with drum brakes, with 5 inch wheels and still rubbing badly when turning. can anyone offer advise?

Where is it rubbing ,on head Light buckets??? Drop spindles???

Hi, it rubbs against the inner fender and chassis with the back end of the wheel the front side has no issues.

What size tire are you running ? I had 6" narrowed on my 60 with 5.5 inch BRM and 135/15 no rubbing on the inner fender wells but I did have to rework my headlight buckets ....

I am running 125/15 and rubbing on the backside of the chassis where it curves out from behind the beam i hope this makes it easier for u to get an idea taking the distance from the centre of the wheel.
