I only met him once when he drove up to my house to pick up three 1200cc cores. We spoke for about 30 minutes and then he left, scraping the side of his truck against my retaining wall as he pulled out my driveway. He seemed like a real nice guy. I'm sure he will be missed.

What a guy !!! I will never forget the year @ the melt down we were loading our trailers and he was going round and around us... giving us burning hell for not driving... I was rolling....
I spoke with him @ W Jam and thought he was doing better.... The News was a real shocker for me...
R.I.P. Big Guy !

Here's my Samba post...y'all post on there too...we need a ton of responses...
Carlos would be proud...The arrangements were done as he ordered!
His life touched so many, and the excitement he had for all things VW will be passed on by those that knew him.
My Wife asked me how I could be thinking about building my VW at a funeral? Well, let's see...Carlos' wish was to be put in his DC bed at the service,we are surrounded by VW friends and almost every type of VW in his backyard, and on and on...
I sent Carlos photos of my '55 for his approval before I bought it.He said "Looks like a good deal",so I got it.One of the last things he said to me about it was "Let's get it on the road!" So,that's been stuck in my mind ever since.
He was always there to talk to,get advice,or even dig up a part from the "Collection".
The VW Scene will never be the same...
We will really miss you Carlos, and I'm glad you know where you're going!!
